In March 2023, Zealand University Hospital could open the doors to the first quarter of the future super hospital.
Hospital
The new wing primarily contains outpatient clinics, day hospitals and intensive care units, while surgical and medical departments, which can carry out highly specialized treatments for which citizens previously had to go to Rigshospitalet, will be added in the coming sections. In addition, the wing contains 150 studios spread over five floors with a view of Køge Bugt or Zealand.
EKJ Bulgaria made the detail design project for the construction of the super hospital, which is an extension of the already existing hospital in Køge.
Helicopter platform and radiotherapy
The structure of the helipad is a heavy steel structure with a height of 50 m.
The approach chosen by our team is to complete the site construction on the ground and then lift it up using two cranes.
In addition to the helicopter pad, EKJ Bulgaria designed, among other things, the hospital’s radiotherapy building, which is built as a bunker shape with 2.6m thick concrete walls to ensure that the radiotherapy is contained in the building intended for him.
